About the record

Pianist Randy Ingram pays heartfelt homage to the legendary Bill Evans on Sound Within, joined by bassist Rufus Reid and drummer Joe La Barbera — two musicians who don't just admire Evans' legacy, they lived it, having both served as members of the Bill Evans Trio. Their presence brings firsthand musical memory to every note, lending the recording an authenticity that goes far beyond reverence.

Sound Within is a meditation on Evans' singular approach to harmony, space, and lyrical expression — rendered not as imitation, but as a living conversation across time.
